Let's restore the Izium hospital together!

The war came in Izium in February 2022. The Izyum direction was one of the more dangerous, the city was subjected to constant shelling, and local residents, together with the Armed Forces, actively fought for their own freedom and the inviolability of Ukrainian lands. From April 1 to September 10, 2022, the city was under occupation.

After the liberation of the city by the Ukrainian military, the whole world became aware of the atrocities of the Russian army in Izyum. The city itself was also badly affected, including the Izyum Central Hospital.

The institution suffered significant destruction from shelling already in March, and the medical staff of the hospital conducted complex operations for bullet wounds in the basement of the medical institution. In this photos, you can see the chronology of the events of the Russian invasion of Izyum and how the hospital and its employees survived, and how they tried to help the local residents in such a difficult situation.

Russians destroyed a large part of the hospital, and almost all the equipment was also destroyed. Each department of the institution needs restoration and the necessary medical equipment. Yes, the hospital's list of needs is currently very large, but after talking with the administration of the institution, we have identified the most critical equipment, namely:

• steam sterilizer;

• operational coagulator (2);

• patient monitor (2);

• electrocardiograph (2).

This equipment will help provide first aid to people who are admitted to the hospital in large numbers with mine-explosive injuries and damage caused by war operations. Every day, on average, 40 people go to the hospital, and the total population of Izyum today is 20,000, but every day more and more residents return to the city.

In order to provide the hospital with this equipment, it is necessary to collect UAH 1,215,400.
