Deep darkness had already fallen on the suburban road when Danilka with his parents returned home from their cottage. Suddenly the wagon's appeared, unmarked and without reflectors, which, as it turned out, was driven by the man drunk. The father abruptly tried to escape the accident, but another car raced by the wrong side of the road...

Danilka was born healthy. Living surrounded by love and care, he is the only child of his parents. In autumn, 2012 he was in the second year of his study at school, had friends there and his own children's interests, but he hadn't finished the second form; his textbooks and copy-books as well as a birthday's gift for his classmate were found by the side of the road... in the car lying upside down ... he haven't seen his classmates anymore.

With severe fatal injuries, Daniil was sent to the casualty unit of the regional сhildren's hospital. When doctors saw a child, they said only to pray, and there's no guarantee that the child will live. The initial diagnosis was a terrible sentence: severe traumatic brain injury, basal skull fracture and skull cup fracture, liquorrhea, severe brain contusion, subarachnoid hemorrhage. Body and limbs injuries. Rib fractures on both sides, and left collarbone fracture. Bilateral pulmonary contusion, hemothorax. Abdominal cavity contusion. Hemorrhage into the cavity of the lesser pelvis. Traumatic shock. COMA...... Six months of the resuscitation procedures, several operations and a lot of expensive medications. A complex operation was performed in Emergency Surgery & Children's Trauma Department of Moscow's Scientific Research Institute. With the help of doctors and the struggle for life of the child, parents with God's help pulled Daniil out in the land of the living.

But severe traumatic brain injury, and being in a coma for a long time produced the deplorable results. The child's condition in the neurological status was marked as akinetic mutism with emotional reactions, with a partial understanding of the speech, hydrocephalus, in addition to this - spastic tetraparesis, pseudobulbar disorders. A child cannot not speak and walk, spastic attacks cause muscle pain. All parents' forces were aimed to help their child not to lose completely all the functions of the nervous system that are necessary for a full life. Currently, Daniil went through several rehabilitation courses, and there is a positive trend, but a child needs further rehabilitation courses and expensive medications.

All this time the parents were fighting against a disease using their own expenses, but now they're asking for help of caring people in whose hearts there is even a drop of mercy and kindness. They believe that their only child, so strong that in his eight years he has gone through the pain and suffering that even an adult cannot endure, eventually overcomes the consequences of a serious injury, and will laugh and enjoy life again.

Danilka's rehabilitation in Slovakia needs only 7898 euros! He CAN recover!

Let's give a hope for returning of the smile and joy of childhood to Daniil, because together we have the power to do that! Don't be indifferent!
