News February 2025

Now we have good news about the case that actually started the work of the network. We took it on in 2020, when Maria, the mother of six-month-old Stasik, turned to us for help. She had just escaped from her husband, who regularly beat her and her children, threatened her with a knife, and wouldn't let her near her youngest child. She was afraid of her husband's persecution and needed legal, social, psychological, and material support. Stasik has a disability and needs additional expenses for food. The court sentenced the abuser to community service for domestic violence. And then a long struggle began to collect alimony from him.
In December, the court handed down a two-year prison sentence. The police had to bring the defendant to court by force.
“2 years of restraint of liberty will not add money to the child's mother, but it was important to me that the sentence and punishment were fair and that everyone who does not care about the child was punished for it, because the state is obliged to ensure that the rights of the child are respected,” lawyer Yulia Seheda wrote in her blog.
We thank everyone who understands the importance of the issue of domestic violence and supported our collection!
