Seven years have passed since Lavrentiy, a young man, loving husband and father of two beautiful daughters, broke his neck due to a careless jump into the water. This injury led to complete paralysis. Doctors gave no guarantees that he would survive or even have a chance to sit up. However, Lavrentiy's courage, his lust for life and the love of his family helped him to start the fight for recovery.

After spinal surgery, Lavrentiy began rehabilitation, which continues to this day. For several years, he was treated in various rehabilitation centers in Ukraine: Nodus, Guta and the Kharkiv Research Institute. Now he regularly works out at the Mentis Rehab rehabilitation center in Odesa. The results are inspiring. From a bedridden patient who was predicted to live a life of complete immobility, Lavrentiy has turned into an active fighter for his health. He eats and drinks on his own, moves around in a wheelchair, keeps his balance in orthoses and even takes his first steps in high orthoses! His arms, shoulders and back have become much stronger. Sensitivity in his body is gradually restored, he works with dumbbells, crawls on his knees, learned to do push-ups and even moves around in a low walker.

But most importantly, the progress in his physical condition strengthens his spirit. The classes help Lavrentiy to keep hope and confidence that one day he will get back on his feet. His wife and daughters believe that he will be able to walk on his own, as he used to, without the help of any external means. However, this requires constant training, medications, special hygiene products and rehabilitation treatment. Continuity is the key to success. Stopping classes can negate all the achievements that have been made at the cost of incredible effort. The family asks everyone to support Lavrentiy in his fight for the future.
