Save the heart of Darina

The 2-year-old Dasha Levenets from Sumy needs our help. The baby has a congenital atrial septal defect of 11 mm in size. This is a huge hole for such a small heart. An urgent heart operation is needed to eliminate the defect using a cardiac implant (occluder). And you can save Dasha’s life!

Dasha was born a healthy girl, develops normally, is gaining weight well, is inquisitive and cheerful, like all children of her age. She already speaks well, loves her older sister very much. She is visually no different from the rest of the children, in appearance she is an absolutely healthy child. But unfortunately this is not so.

In the fall of 2018, Dasha got sick with bronchitis and the district doctor noticed a heart murmur. Having gone to ultrasound, my mother could not believe what she heard. Where did a completely healthy child get a hole in his heart? Why did this happen and what to do next?

In April 2019, the family was already at a consultation in Kiev, where they reported on the need for an operation. It was a shock to everyone. Since the option of a painless and most optimal way out of the situation was an endovascular operation, for which it is necessary to purchase an implant worth almost 100,000 UAH. The family does not have that kind of money. Dasha’s dad works as a mechanic on elevators, and mom on maternity leave with two children. You can’t count on the help of relatives, because mom is an orphan, and Dasha’s grandmother is often sick after treatment with chemotherapy at the Cancer Institute and is registered with the Oncology Center. Grandfather has long left the family and does not support relations.

Therefore, you have to ask for help from people who care. It is necessary to quickly raise funds for the purchase of an implant for Dasha, perform the operation and make her a healthy, full-fledged and happy child.
