Save Nastiusha’s heart

8-year-old Nastia has congenital heart disease – interatrial septum secondary defect. Diagnosis was made at the age of 9 months. There was no urgent necessity for surgery during those time due to probability of spontaneous defect closure. Now doctors advice to perform the procedure immediately as defect starts to grow and it may lead to problems with girl's health in general. Occluder (intracardiac implant) can resolve Nastia’s problem.

Nastia was born in a large family of Ukrainian army officer. Now a girl's mom is in maternity leave with smallest brother at the age of 7 months, her eldest son is 10 years old and Nastia is 8 years old. The only bread-earner of Nastia’s family is her father who is an officer in missile troops of Ukrainian army in Kremenchug. Almost two months he is absent at home. Family lives in unfinished building in Krivushi village, as to rent a flat in the city is too expensive for them. Their own flat was not provided by The Ministry of military defense during the 18 years of father ‘s soldiering. Nastia’s family is asking for help the the Ministry of military defense of Ukraine foundation "Save the Life", but they have no opportunity to help. Their grandparents live in Kherson region so they are to far from Nastia.

At 15 April Nastia was charged in cardiovascular clinic in Kiev where operation was planed. But Nastia’s family have no enough money for buying implant, as cost of implant is 41 650 UAH and family with the help of friends and grandparents’ collected only 20 000 UAH, and they have noone else to ask for help. This is the reason why the family asks indifferent people to help in resolving this problem as they could not find such amount of money by themselves.

Please help Nastia to kill this disease, and give her a chance to live a full life. To give her an opportunity to do her favourite things: to play fortepiano, to dance, to ride a bicycle and to swim in the river. And to make her dream to become a gymnast come true, which unfortunately may become only a dream without resolving Nastia’s heart problem. Please don’t be indifferent!
