Save the heart of Sofia Tkachenko

Now the recently born Sofia Tkachenko is at the Amosov Institute. She was born with multiple defects in her heart and needs urgent heart surgery to install a heart implant – conduit. A single mother with three children, who found herself in such trouble, asks all kind people to help save her daughter's life. Hope only for good people, and there is no time at all.

Sofia was born on October 10, and already at birth it became clear that we had to fight for the life of this baby.  Sofia has a congenital heart defect – ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, pulmonary hypertension. If she does not undergo surgery in the coming days, the baby may simply suffocate. Now blood enters Sofia's lungs through a tiny connection between the aorta and the branches of the pulmonary artery, in fact, this is the only source of life for the baby. With the growth of the child, this compound becomes insufficient, and the oxygen saturation of the blood begins to decrease, it begins to suffocate, unfortunately, this can lead to the worst. Doctors of the Amosov Institute are able to carry out a complex operation to restore the exit from the heart to the pulmonary artery and close the defect of the interventricular septum. Since the child does not have his own artery, it must be replaced with an expensive biological implant – a conduit. After this operation, her heart will function like a healthy child.

A single mother does not have the means to purchase a heart implant. In addition to three children the woman has a sick old mother. The husband just disappeared and does not help. One hope for caring people.
