Save the heart of Varchuk Illia

Look at that smiling baby! Looking at him makes you want to smile and live! But unfortunately, this kid needs our help. His name is Illia, he's three years old. From birth, the boy was diagnosed with congenital heart disease – atrial septal defect. Three years, the parents waited for a miracle that the defect will close on their own, but every survey it is more and more increased in size. Now the boy needs urgent surgery to close the defect.

His family lives in the village, the mother is not working, she takes care of son (he is very often sick with SARS), the father receives the minimum salary. With the help of relatives and friends, the family managed to collect 30 000 UAH, but the remaining 59 880 UAH without the help of caring people they do not collect. Let us save the heart of this wonderful baby!

A letter from mom:
"Illia was born on March 3, 2014. Immediately after discharge from the hospital, we were sent to the Vinnytsia regional hospital. During a complete examination, the boy was diagnosed with the congenital atrial septal defect. We were under the supervision of the regional pediatric cardiologist, and when Illia turned 7 months, we were sent to Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Our diagnosis was confirmed, and the doctors said to wait a bit, maybe the defect will heal on their own. But for all the time that we have observed in the Institute, there was no change for the better, the defect actually increased in size. Then the doctor said to come back in a year, then perhaps there will be changes for the better.

On March 15, Illia has turned three years old, and we passed the echocardiographic examination. We were diagnosed with congenital atrial septal defect ASD 2 with a diameter of 0.5 cm. Doctors said that the boy needs surgery. They advised to close the defect with the endovascular method using the occluder. Operation at the Institute do for free, but we need to get a heart implant, which costs about 90 000 UAH. For us, it is very big money. I'm not working, Illia is often sick, my husband works and gets a minimum salary, besides he is paying child support! We ask all compassionate and caring people to help! Give us hope that our child will be healthy!".
