Nastia lives in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in the city with the most difficult ecological situation Kamianske (Dniprodzerzhynsk). In July, Nastia will be 13 years old. The girl has severe thoracic scoliosis, a hump is growing, curved ribs squeeze the heart and lungs. The angle of spinal deformity is rapidly progressing and has already reached 60 degrees. The only way to straighten the girl's back and relieve her from excruciating pain is to perform an operation on the spine with the installation of a fixing metal structure. Such operation is very expensive. Nastya's mother brings up her daughter herself, works as a nurse in dentistry, the father does not live with his family and does not help. She herself is not able to pay for expensive surgery.

"Nastia was born a healthy child. Up to six years old, my daughter grew up in a full-fledged family, she had a happy childhood. But in 2012, Nastya’s father left the family, and since then, she doesn’t accept participation in the child’s life at all, and I raise my daughter alone", says Tetiana, Nastia’s mother. When Nastia was seven years old, at the examination in the clinic, the pediatrician suspected her spinal curvature. He was diagnosed with scoliosis of 1-2 degrees. Prescribed massage, physiotherapy, swimming pool. It did not help, Nastia’s back was bent more and more noticeably, a hump appeared. In 2018, the condition worsened, the girl began to experience severe pain in the back, legs, breathing difficulties, disruption of the cardiac system. In March, Nastya and her mother came to theSytenko Institute of Spinal and Joint Pathology. Doctors of the Institute said that the curvature is rapidly progressing and has already reached the fourth degree, a combined form, only surgery can help.

"I see how my daughter suffers, what pain she experiences, and my heart breaks with grief. She is unable to live a full, active life and be as happy as her friends. Due to illness, the daughter refused a favorite hobby – dancing. But she was doing so well, she wanted to become a famous dancer", mother says with tears in her eyes. "And yet, Nastia dreams of becoming a pediatrician, to provide assistance to all children in need of her".

The problem is that an operation that can save a girl and a metal structure for fixing the spine cost a lot of money and is not covered by the state quota now. And it is no more time to wait. Scoliosis completely mutilates her. We can help the girl who dreams of becoming a pediatrician and provides assistance to all children in need of her!

At UBB, we collect 107,465 UAH.
