This project was created and supported by Vodafone Ukraine's charity programme "A Good Deed as a Gift". The mobile operator has created a mechanism for its subscribers to do good deeds easily. To help, it is enough to transfer any number of bonuses to charity. In turn, each subscriber receives them in the My Vodafone app, where their balance is displayed and they can be used for charity, among other things. The main goal of the charity initiative is to turn subscriber bonuses into saved hearts of little Ukrainians.

Congenital heart disease is one of the leading problems faced by hundreds of children every year. It is insidious and dangerous, because a visually healthy child is always at risk. And any ordinary seasonal illness or physical activity can be fatal. However, there is a simple and modern, but very expensive solution to this problem for ordinary Ukrainian families - the elimination of heart disease through endovascular surgery and the installation of a heart implant. The surgeries are performed without a chest incision, last a few hours, and the little patients of the Amosov Institute are discharged home on the third day. It is called an occluder. And the cost of heart implants can vary from UAH 47,000 to 134,071.

Pohribnyi Miroslav, born on 18.01.2019 from Vinnytsia region. On the third day after birth, the boy was diagnosed with a heart murmur. After an ultrasound of the heart, doctors diagnosed an open arterial duct. Now Myroslav is 5.5 years old. As of now, the defect is of critical size, the indicators are normal, and the defect needs to be urgently closed. Myroslav's mother does not have the financial means to purchase a heart implant on her own. The father does not help his son financially.

Taran Vladyslav, born on 18.09.2021, Chernihiv region. Vladyslav is a lively and cheerful boy. Like all children, he wants to run and enjoy life to the fullest, but now it is not possible because he has a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct. He has restrictions on his workload, gets tired quickly, has shortness of breath, and is often ill. His parents found out about his illness by accident when he was admitted to hospital with an illness. It happened last year.  Back then, at the Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, doctors examined the child and gave hope that the arterial duct could heal on its own. Unfortunately, the miracle did not happen, and the ductus arteriosus began to enlarge. After the last examination, it was decided to perform the operation. For the family, the cost of the operation is very high. Mum is on maternity leave, Vladyslav's older brother goes to school in the sixth grade. His father serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Valeria Ostrik, born on 02.03.2016 in the village of Nova Kochubeevka, Poltava region. Lera is a very sincere, cheerful and artistic girl. She likes to draw and sing.   At the age of 7, it became noticeable that the girl was getting tired quickly.  During the examination, a diagnosis was made: congenital heart disease - atrial septal aneurysm with atrial septal defect.  In July 2024, during a consultation at the Amosov Institute, doctors confirmed the diagnosis. Now the girl needs endovascular surgery to correct the heart defect. The disease constantly reminds of itself, and the girl feels unwell. Since the outbreak of the war, her parents have lost their jobs and currently have no stable income. Her mother is a baker and her father is a labourer.   They barely have enough money to live on. The family is unable to buy an occluder on their own, so they ask for help to save their daughter's heart.

Anastasia Vakulich, 15.09.2010, Vinnytsia region. The child was diagnosed with a heart defect at birth.  The diagnosis is a secondary defect of the atrial septum. The girl has also been suffering from reactive arthritis since childhood and has complications that accompany this diagnosis. The disease is difficult to treat, so the girl spends a lot of time in hospital. The heart defect did not close on its own over time.  Recently, changes in the child's heart began to occur. The girl needed endovascular surgery to close the defect. The child needs additional care, so her mother cannot work, and her father is a driver.

Thanks to this project, the lives of 5 children will be saved at once.
