Maxim Ryabov undergoes successful surgery

A cheerful, inquisitive and active boy, whom his mother always calls her little fidget spinner. However, his childhood was marked by frequent illnesses. Since childhood, Maksym often suffered from acute respiratory viral infections. During a routine examination, doctors found a heart condition. Additional tests confirmed the atrial septal defect (ASD, 10 mm) and dilatation of the right heart.

Cardiologists at the Amosov Institute recommended closing the defect with an occluder. The family could not afford to buy the implant on their own. Maksym's mother is raising him alone, and the alimony from his father did not cover even his basic needs.

On 18 February, doctors successfully performed surgery to close the heart defect. Now Maksym is being prepared for discharge, and now he has a chance for a healthy and full life!
