David Mekhtiev undergoes surgery

When David was just six months old, doctors diagnosed him with a congenital heart defect - a defect in the atrial septum. His mother, Daryna, hoped to the last that the situation would improve on its own, but time passed, and the unclosed defect prevented David from playing sports and leading an active lifestyle.

In 2024, the family made an important decision to undergo surgery to close the defect with a special implant. However, the cost of the occluder was unaffordable for the mother, who remained the only support for her son after the loss of her husband.

On 11 February 2025, David underwent surgery to close his heart defect.

Thanks to the collection for Pavel Kazarin's birthday, David got a chance for a healthy life. Now he will be able to fulfil his dream of playing sports without restrictions and living the life every child dreams of.
