Kateryna Pasevych underwent surgery
Kateryna Pasevich is only 8 years old, but her heart needs help to live a full life. The girl was born with a congenital heart defect - a secondary atrial septal defect and an open oval window. For the first few years, her parents hoped that the heart would heal on its own, but unfortunately, this did not happen.
The family lives in a small village and has three children. Both parents are temporarily unemployed: Yulia's mother has only recently come out of maternity leave, and her father works odd jobs due to the difficult situation caused by the war. They are unable to afford an occluder, an implant that is essential to save Katryna's life.
‘My daughter deserves a chance to live without limitations and pain. We sincerely believe that caring people will help make this miracle happen,’ writes the mother. The family hopes that by working together they can give little Katrusia a healthy childhood.
On 17 December, doctors at the Amosov Institute successfully performed surgery to close the heart defect. Katrusha is being prepared for discharge, and now she has a chance for a healthy and full life.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributed to Pavel Kazarin's collection. Your concern helped to make a miracle happen for little Katrusia!
