Changes on the project

Dear donors,

We sincerely thank everyone who joined Pavlo Kazarin's initiative and helps to save children's hearts!

During preparation for surgery and a detailed preoperative examination, it was found that sisters Anita and Yasmina Lyutsevich (2 and 10 years old, Volyn) have heart defects, but they are minor and do not require endovascular closure. Therefore, the girls did not undergo surgery.

Liutsevich Anita (16.06.2021) and Yasmina (20.11.2013). Olga's large family had a difficult story of struggle for the lives of her two daughters. Her eldest daughter, Yasmina, born with a congenital heart defect, lives with a diagnosis of atrial septal aneurysm. From the moment she was born, her mother did everything possible to keep the girl healthy: constant examinations, immune support, and medical supervision. But over time, her condition worsened, and the need for surgery became obvious. But fate prepared another test. Anita's younger daughter was also diagnosed with the same heart defect. It was a shock for the family. Surgeries for both girls are the only chance for a healthy future, but their cost far exceeds the family's means.

‘My daughters are my heart,’ says Olga. Olha's husband, a defender of Ukraine, is on the frontline, and she is raising her children, including her husband's son from his first marriage, who has found safety and love in their home. The family lives modestly, often saving even on the most basic necessities.

It also turned out that Daria Summa (11 years old, Zhytomyr region) has multiple heart defects, one of which is too large and requires open surgery rather than endovascular intervention.

Daria Summa 22.01.2013, Grushky village, Zhytomyr region. Dasha Summa was born with a congenital heart defect. From the moment she was born, doctors warned that the girl might need surgery, but her parents hoped for a miracle - that the heart defect would close on its own. However, time has shown otherwise: the problem has not disappeared, and concomitant pathologies have begun to develop that threaten the girl's life. Doctors insist on urgent surgical intervention.

The family is unable to buy the occluder needed to save Dasha on their own. Her mother is currently on maternity leave with her younger son, who is only one year old, and her father works part-time as a construction worker. Their family budget is about 10-12 thousand hryvnias a month, which is not enough to cover the cost of the operation.

In this regard, the project has undergone appropriate changes.

Instead, endovascular surgeries were successfully performed on these three children:

  • Kirichok Vladi, 8 years old, Odesa region;
  • Mekhtiev David, 9 years old, Kyiv;
  • Ryabov Maxim, 8 years old, Chernihiv region.
