Dear donors! Andrii Platonov's family is asking for help again. Four years ago Andrei's sudden illness changed the happy course of their life. When he and his wife Miroslava were expecting their youngest daughter, Andrei was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer). His whole life was turned upside down and divided into two parts – before and after.

During those four years Andrii underwent more than 30 chemotherapy courses, radiation therapy, monoclonal therapy, bone marrow biopsy, surgery to remove the mass on his spine. In the summer of 2021 Andrii underwent a bone marrow transplantation from an unrelated donor (allogeneic bone marrow transplantation).

Bone marrow transplantation from a donor is a very responsible procedure and the most serious stage is the rehabilitation phase. The patient's bone marrow must completely rebuild itself and start producing completely new cells. To achieve positive results after the transplantation Andrii will have to undergo accompanying therapy prescribed by the transplantologist, he will have to stick to a diet, take medicines and regular tests, be under constant medical supervision. Вut the most important thing is to continue taking the expensive immunotherapy Opdivo (Nivolumab). Now the man needs to undergo 4 more courses of immunotherapy in a Turkish clinic, this is the final stage of treatment with this drug, and the result of BMT depends on it. At dobro.ua, we plan to raise funds to buy medicines in Turkey, thanks to which Andrii will be able to undergo treatment at the clinic there.

Andrii is 38 years old and he has a wonderful, close-knit family: his wife Myroslava and two young children, his son Pasha is 8 and little daughter Katenka is 4. Andrei is a disabled person of the first group. Myroslava cannot work at the moment, she is completely devoted to her beloved husband, his health and she is taking care of him. They are an ordinary young family with small children and retired parents. The expensive medical treatment provided for many years has already significantly depleted the family budget.
