On 3 December, Pavel Kazarin will celebrate his birthday, which he dedicates to a charitable cause - helping children with heart disease.  Thanks to your donations to this project, we will be able to save the hearts of four children.

Every year in Ukraine, about 500 children need heart implants. Unlike open heart surgery, the placement of an occluder does not require cutting the chest to perform surgery and then a long rehabilitation. The surgery to install the implant lasts only a few hours, and in two days the child returns home to his or her normal life. Our Ukrainian children deserve to have access to the best medicine.

Four children with congenital heart disease need help. The doctors at the Amosov Institute perform such surgeries free of charge. But to perform them, doctors need heart implants.  Little Dmytro is a foster child of the Social Assistance Centre, and the families of the other three children cannot afford to buy an implant on their own.   Only we, the people who care, can help. Let's save their lives together!

Khudyay Dmytro Vladyslavovych, born on 05.07.2020, from the city of Oleksandriya, Kirovohrad region. Dmytro's mother abandoned him in the hospital.  Now the boy is three years old and since January 2023 he has been a foster child of the "Source of Life" Centre for Social Assistance and Rehabilitation. Dmitry has a defect in the interstitial septum, so he has difficulty breathing and shortness of breath. Despite his difficult fate, the little boy often smiles. He loves to play with his carer and dreams that he will have parents one day. The centre where Dmitry is being brought up does not have the funds to purchase an expensive implant to save the boy's life.

Margarita Kostina, 25.09.2013, from the village of Pisochin, Kharkiv region. When Margarita was 5 years old, she was admitted to the hospital because of acute pneumonia. A full examination revealed that Margarita had an atrial septal defect. Every time she visited a cardiologist, her mother hoped to hear that the arterial duct had closed without surgery. But the miracle did not happen. Now Margarita needs an urgent operation, because the girl is already 10 years old and the load on her heart is increasing, which can lead to unpredictable events.  The girl is taken care of by her mother. Margarita's mother lost her permanent job when the war started, so now she has no stable income. In addition, the girl is often ill, so a lot of money is spent on treatment. The amount of money needed to buy a heart implant is too much for her mother to raise on her own.

Andriy Savko, 12.04.2010, born in Vinnytsia. Andriy has been registered with doctors since birth as a child whose father was injured at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.  Until the age of 6, the boy grew poorly and doctors recommended that he spend more time outdoors.  So the family decided to move to the countryside. Andrey is always cheerful and active. In November this year, Andriy lost consciousness at school. At first, the doctors thought that the fainting spell was simply due to excitement in class. To make sure, they sent the boy for an ultrasound of the heart, which the child had never undergone before. During the examination, the doctor found a heart defect. Later, an Amosov cardiac surgeon diagnosed a defect in the atrial septum and the need for surgical treatment. Andriy has an older brother who is a medical student. His mother and father try to provide their children with everything they need as much as possible. The father is involved in any additional work.  But the family is unable to cope with all the troubles that have come upon them in one moment: the father has recently undergone surgery, the eldest son has surgery, and the grandfather has cancer. The boy's parents are desperate to find the money for everything. Andriy needs the operation immediately, because if it is performed on time, the boy will have a healthy heart and a quality life in the future.

Ivashchuk Mariana Valeriivna, 20.03.2016, Vinnytsia region. The girl was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at birth.  Now Mariana is 7 years old and the disease constantly causes problems with her health and well-being. Mariana is recommended to undergo endovascular surgery, after which her health and life will not be in danger. The girl comes from a large family, has a 6-year-old brother and a 1-year-old sister. Mariana's parents are divorced, her father does not support the family, and her mother is unable to raise the money on her own. Therefore, she asks us to save her daughter's life.

Please support this charity fundraiser, which will help purchase heart implants for 4 children with congenital heart disease.
