On March 11, 2026, Nazar Tarasenko, born in 2023, from Kyiv, underwent surgery.

Nazar was born prematurely at 33 weeks of gestation. On his third day of life, he was transferred to Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, to the post-intensive care and neonatal recovery unit for premature infants. There, the boy spent over a month under medical supervision.

While still in the maternity ward, doctors diagnosed him with a congenital heart defect—an aneurysm of the membranous portion of the ventricular septum (ventricular septal defect). From the very first days of his life, Nazar has undergone regular examinations, echocardiograms, and consultations with specialists. Doctors recommend performing surgery as soon as possible to prevent complications and give the boy the opportunity to grow and develop fully.

Nazar has already endured many trials. In addition to his heart problems, he has had to undergo two more surgeries, the need for which was also identified at birth.

The cost of the occluder to close the defect is significant, and the family was unable to pay for it on their own. Only the father works in the family, while the mother is on maternity leave and caring for little Nazar.

On March 11, 2026, Nazar successfully underwent surgery to correct his congenital heart defect. The necessary occluder, costing 140,598 UAH, was purchased thanks to the support of donors to Sabina Musina’s project.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined in to help and gave Nazar a chance at a healthy future.
