On November 21, 2023, Artem Starshinin, born in 2010, from Kirovograd region, underwent surgery
Atem is now 13 years old, from the city of Oleksandria, Kirovograd region. At the age of three months, the boy was diagnosed with a heart condition. When Artem turned a year old, after an examination, doctors were sure that the risks were minimized. But at the age of 2.5, Artem began to have shortness of breath, which prevented him from playing active games with his peers, and he began to gain weight due to restrictions on sports. The family was sure that all these were the consequences of frequent colds, which the boy often suffered from as a child. Only this year, during an examination, the doctors referred the boy to cardiologists, where it was determined that he needed surgery.
Artem is from a low-income family, and the family is unable to raise funds and pay for the cost of the occluder on their own.
Thanks to philanthropists and Sabina Musina, endovascular surgery to install a heart implant became possible.
On November 21, 2023, Artem underwent surgery at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Now the boy feels great, doctors continue to monitor his condition and prepare him for discharge in the coming days.
