On 27 March 2024, Аnna Korotkova, born in 2011, from Cherkasy region, underwent surgery.
Anna is 12 years old. We found out that she had a heart defect a year ago. The girl was under the supervision of a cardiologist, and there was a chance that she would not need surgery. At the end of February 2024, the girl's own father, Rostislav Korotkov, died in the war. Since then, Anna's health has deteriorated sharply. The girl became frail, tired very quickly, constantly has frequent and prolonged shortness of breath, waking up at night from heavy breathing.
Anna was sent to the Amosov Institute for additional examination. The doctors confirmed the diagnosis of an open arterial duct and advised her to undergo heart surgery as soon as possible.
The family has three children. The mother is on maternity leave to care for the youngest child. Her income does not allow her to raise the required amount, so she turned to us for help.
On 27 March 2024, Anna underwent surgery to close the open duct. The occluder for the operation was purchased thanks to benefactors who support Sabina's initiative.
