On January 14, 2026, surgery was performed on Ilya Skorobogatov, born in 2008, from Kharkiv.
Ilya lives with his parents in Kharkiv, a city that has been living in constant danger for several years.
At the age of 8, doctors diagnosed the boy with a secondary atrial septal defect complicated by an aneurysm. Since then, Ilya's life has changed.
Earlier this year, during an examination at the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, doctors determined that the defect had begun to progress. Ilya was recommended surgical treatment — closure of the heart defect using an occluder. Without this intervention, the disease could lead to serious complications.
The boy's mother works as an engineer at Ukrzaliznytsia. His father provides consulting services, but because Kharkiv is a frontline city, his income has become unstable and small.
On January 14, 2026, Ilya Skorobogatov underwent surgery at the Amosov Institute to close his congenital heart defect. The cost of the occluder was 149,500 hryvnia.
The help of caring people gave Ilya a chance for a healthy heart and a full childhood.
We sincerely thank Sabina, the doctors, and all the benefactors for their support, which gives the children of Ukraine a chance for a future.
