Protect OKHMATDYT patients from insects and down
Despite the large-scale war in Ukraine, the OKHMATDYT team has remained in its jobs since the first days of Russian aggression and continues to provide highly qualified assistance to victims of hostilities. The wounded are taken to the hospital, who are provided with ambulance and professional medical care. Despite the difficult conditions, the doctors of OKHMATDYT are fighting for every life as a united front.
The Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology has 40 beds. In peacetime, the department provided qualified medical care to children under 18 with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. However, in military conditions, adults also come here for treatment – wounded soldiers, representatives of territorial defense and civilians. The main areas of work are surgical treatment of patients with spinal and thoracic deformities, polytraumas, which are accompanied by severe skeletal injuries. The department provides medical care to more than 1,000 patients annually and performs more than 600 surgeries. Currently, children and families from Chernihiv, Mariupol and Kherson regions who were affected by the shelling are being treated at the department.
Since the beginning of summer, a serious problem for young and adult patients of the department has been the lack of mosquito nets on the windows, patients suffer from down and mosquitoes, which "attack" them day and night.
The aim of this project is to raise funds and install mosquito nets on 22 windows of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department and to provide cozy and comfortable living conditions for children and adults who have already suffered enough from the war and other difficult individual circumstances.
