Rehabilitation equipment for disabled

Help elderly people! We are once again forced to turn to you for help. Now for the acquisition of things that would help pensioners move. Such things are walkers, crutches, canes, wheelchairs. For low-income elderly, severely ill persons with disabilities who, without these means of rehabilitation cannot walk, it will be a very big help.

Imagine how those who for years have been isolated in the four walls tomorrow will be able to move freely in their housing, to go out for food, drugs, and to medical institutions. These people will not only improve their living conditions, but also get rid of the feeling of isolation and rejection by society, find new friends.
We ask you to see the pain and suffering of people who cannot make few steps in their own room, go to the kitchen, turn on the TV by themselves, to "visit" the outside world or to get to the bathroom. Unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to acquire additional means for moving in the required amount, so we ask for help all those who care! We need to buy walkers, crutches, canes, wheelchairs. They will be passed to poor elderly, severely ill people with disabilities, people who are in need of constant care after an injury or serious illness.
In order to enhance care for disabled, elderly people, the rental centre of rehabilitation equipment was established in Caritas. People in need can temporarily get free wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, sticks and other tools, which greatly facilitate the lives of sick or disabled. These rehabilitation means will be provided in both permanent and temporary use.

Since 1993 Caritas Kyiv takes care of lonely elderly people, disabled people , people living with HIV\ AIDS, palliative patients and others in need. During this time, we have managed to help over 6000 people in need! Nowadays under the care of our Caritas there are about 100 elderly and those in need of assistance. Nurses and social workers provide a wide range of services: pampering the sick and disabled, medical services, housekeeping, resolving legal issues and leisure, consultancy to the care recipients and their relatives and others.

Recently on the UBB website we have asked all people of good will to help purchase diapers for the elderly and disabled. We would like to thank everyone who participated as in a very short period of time the funds have been collected and dozens of people felt your care. We humbly ask to help this time our serving to others who find themselves in hard life situations!
