When a person suffers a serious injury or loses a limb, it may seem as though their normal life has come to a halt, but in the UNBROKEN ecosystem, we know this is just the beginning of a new chapter. That is why the UNBROKEN Sport project is launching an important fundraiser to organize sporting events, races, and adaptive training sessions for our veterans and civilians. Sports after injury aren’t about chasing Olympic medals; they’re about building a solid bridge back to regaining control over one’s own body, adapting to prosthetics, and strengthening muscles under the supervision of professional rehabilitation specialists.
The importance of this initiative goes far beyond physical recovery, as adaptive sports are among the most powerful remedies for mental health. Participating in competitions helps overcome PTSD, anxiety, and feelings of isolation, restoring a sense of drive, excitement, and camaraderie among peers. Moreover, when our defenders, using prosthetics, take to the starting line and complete the races, it shifts the mindset of society as a whole, fostering a culture of respect and accessibility, and proving that an injury is not a death sentence but a manifestation of incredible strength of spirit.
A fundraising campaign has been launched on the dobro.ua charity platform to support sporting events for patients and veterans of the UNBROKEN Center. All funds raised will be used to organize sporting events and for prize payouts as part of Unbroken Sport.
Every contribution you make means extra kilometers in a race, the first pull-ups on a prosthesis, or a long-awaited victory in a tournament for one of our veterans. Support UNBROKEN Sport.
