In January 2019 beloved son Vova was born in the family of Iryna and Mykola. They waited so much for this happiness. Such babies are called “early babies”. He was born prematurely on the 33rd week of pregnancy with pneumonia and cardiac failure. The baby’s lungs were not prepared for independent breathing, he breathed with the help of artificial lung ventilation during a month in the intensive care unit. It was an everyday struggle for life. Everyday pain…

Due to the brain bleeding and progressive hydrocephaly during his babyhood he underwent the first surgery on brain shunting in order to remove liquid that accumulated there. He struggles for the right to live. However, brain damage caused severe consequences. Vova was diagnosed with spastic cerebral paralysis – cerebral palsy. The baby suffers from muscle pains (spastic), it lies and can’t even turn to his belly, crawl or sit.

When the baby was 7 months he underwent a complex open heart surgery. His heart was stopped and artificial blood circulation was applied. The specialists conducted a successful surgery. The heart control demonstrates a positive dynamics as of today. Vova is 3 years old now and he has already undergone 6 brain surgeries. At the moment, the baby grows with the delay of early psychomotor and speech development. Kids of his age visit kindergarten, jump, run in the playing grounds and speak. Vova’s parents can only dream about all that so far.

To improve the kid’s condition, it is necessary to have rehabilitation course several times per year at the specialized centers. This will help develop psychomotor and speech skills. After the treatment at the correction and development center, Vova can hold his body better, support his body with level arms when lying on his stomach, his movement amplitude increased, he became more enduring. The undergone surgeries prevented the kid from active exercises before, but now he can reach essential results.

Parents give all their resources and powers to his little son. They take great efforts to give him a chance to live a full life. Last year the kid spent a lot of time at hospital where he had surgeries. Now the financial capacity of the family is exhausted. However, they can’t stop treatment of their son and have to ask for help in gathering funds: “We love our son more than anything. He is the most courageous among us. After so many surgeries he gives us sincere smiles and pure love. It’s very painful to see the child suffering from pain and being unable to move. Please, support Vova!”.
