Dasha dreams of returning to her hometown of Nikopol. Due to constant shelling, her family was forced to leave.
Daria’s childhood ended early. At age 2, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Her life was divided into “before” and “after.”
Dasha had to prick her fingers up to 15 times a day to monitor her blood glucose levels. Later, she started using Freestyle Libre 2 sensors, which allow her to track her levels without painful finger pricks.
Using the sensors helps reduce the risk of dangerous episodes of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia and prevent complications. Unfortunately, Daria already has some of these complications: her vision has deteriorated and she has lost sensation in her feet.
Every donation will help Daria manage her diabetes, protect her health, and live without the constant pain of numerous finger pricks. Let’s reach our fundraising goal together!
