News January 2026
Living with diabetes means painful procedures, a strict daily routine, and a strict diet with daily carbohydrate counting.
Until recently, Dasha had to prick her fingers 10-15 times a day and take up to 5 insulin injections. The wounds became inflamed and did not have time to heal.
Freestyle Libre 2 sensors changed her life: they measure glucose levels every 5 minutes and transmit the data to a smartphone – without pain or pricks.
The use of sensors also reduces the risk of hypo- and hyperglycaemia and stops the development of complications for the kidneys, heart, blood vessels and nerve endings. And they are already there: Daria's eyesight has deteriorated and the sensitivity in her legs has decreased.
Dasha dreams of returning to her native Nikopol.
For 5 months, the family lived under constant shelling until a rocket exploded near their house. The house miraculously survived, but it was dangerous to stay there. Now the family rents an apartment in Pokrov.
The disease divided Daria's life into ‘before’ and ‘after,’ but it taught her the most important thing — never give up. The girl is in 8th grade, loves chemistry, algebra and English, and has many friends. And at home, her cat Maska is always waiting for her.
We have launched a fundraiser to purchase 24 Freestyle Libre 2 sensors.
Daria's grandmother is bedridden, her mother takes care of her, and her father has lost his job. This family really needs our support.
Friends, let's help Daria stay healthy and live without pain!
