Life is expensive!

UPD: unfortunately, Denys died, the disease was still stronger. The boy bravely fought against leukemia ... The UBB team brings its sincere words of condolences to Denis's family and thanks to everyone who supported the boy. In 2015, the life of Denys and all his family turned upside down, when the boy was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Over the past two and a half years, Denis suffered a lot – bone marrow transplantation, daily procedures, administration of medications and sometimes intolerable pain, isolation from friends, relatives. Not every adult can even imagine it! On August 12, 2016, Denis came through BMT in Turkey, and the results were good at first. However, six months later, aggravation began – the necrosis of the bones and tissues of the lower leg developed and he stopped walking. Then, necrosis developed in the hip joints.

On March 10, 2018, in critical condition, Denys was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Oblast Children's Clinical Hospital. Doctors diagnosed transplant rejection. After consultations with Ukrainian and Turkish doctors, a decision was taken to fly to the Turkish clinic where BMT was done in 2016. On arrival in Turkey, on March 20, Denys and his mother in the ambulance were immediately taken to the clinic. Denys felt bad, he was breathing heavily and was taken to the intensive care unit. After the examination, it was diagnosed that fluid was collected around the heart. On next day he was operated, drainage was installed, and again he was transferred to the intensive care unit. On March 24, the accounting department issued an invoice for the operation and stay in the intensive care unit for USD 28,500.

"It's very hard to realize that a child's life has a price! Moreover, it is even more difficult, when a family does not have much money and there is already nothing to sell! I cannot look at the suffering of my son and be unable to help him! Help please to collect the necessary amount and pay for this expensive treatment. After all, therapy for GVHR elimination is scheduled, for which it is necessary to pay off existing debt. It's very hard for me to write all this, but I know that we cannot give up, even if there is no strength, even if a lump in the throat from tears, we must do everything to give our child morning, future full of health, joy, and hope!", Maryna, the mother of Denis, writes.
