Life is blind. 2
"To understand how the child lives without sight I did experiment. I challenged myself for 24 hours to live with eyes shut. Turned out that my world is full of corners, wardrobes, uncomfortable items, surfaces. I could not eat – food was either salty or too sweet, by the end of the fifth hour I could only drink milk and water. Turned out I have nothing to do! Books, PC, TV, painting became inaccessible for me.
I didn't go outside an apartment and the only thing I did – imagined how my room looks like - so basically I was living with memories of what I saw when I saw. And I became very sad. I tried to fall asleep as soon as possible. As a result, I did go through 24 hours without sight - but it was one of the saddest 24 hours of my life".
Friends, due to your support we already helped visually impaired Grisha, by buying necessary equipment and goods for learning and socializing. Now we are taking care of Fedir – the youngest child in the large family from Donetsk. To save at least minimum of vision ability he underwent 7 eye-surgeries. He had to go through another surgeries and rehabilitation but the war started in his town. First weeks family was hiding in a basement, than 2 years of being hosted by relatives. Family has no means for surgery.
Time is lost. The boy grew up. Fedia is studying in a special boarding school for visually impaired in Slaviansk. He learns how to live in this world but a family has no means to buy the required items for everyday life.
Help Fedia to live in the world of people who can see!
