Roma is a ninth-grade student, an ordinary teenager with dreams and plans for the future. He enjoys spending time with his brothers, and when he has enough energy, he loves playing football. The boy has grown up and is now as tall as his grandmother, but his weight has hardly changed – just over 37 kg, and he has to fight for every kilogram.

Roma's digestive problems began at birth. Treatment provided only temporary relief. In the summer of 2015, Roma was admitted to intensive care with acute abdominal pain. After emergency surgery, only 12 cm of the small intestine, the part responsible for absorbing nutrients, could be saved.

Since then, Roman has had a deficiency of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Every month, he receives parenteral nutrition for ten days: special mixtures of Nutriflex Lipid and Smofilipid, Ringer's and Sterofundin solutions containing electrolytes are administered intravenously. In addition to regular food, the boy drinks a mixture of Modulen.

To support his digestive system, Roman takes Ukrliv, Creon, Heptral, Vikasol, and Nolpaza. To prevent harmful microbes from multiplying in his intestines, he takes the antibiotic Alfa Normiks. He also needs vitamins, minerals, and medications to strengthen his immune system.
