No barriers!

There are children who spend most of their lives in bed because of severe diseases or physical disabilities. Every step requires a huge effort from them, and many ordinary things are inaccessible. In November 2018, Bedstock Music Festival will take place in Ukraine for the first time. The event’s aim is to support children with limited mobility. 

On #GivingTuesday, November 27th, at the studio of "Radio Aristocrats" famous Ukrainian musicians will get together and lie down to play songs, showing their solidarity with children. The festival’s participants are going to help pupils of boarding school in Kremenna town in Luhansk region: namely to make the building free of barriers.

There are 72 children with harsh lesions of the musculoskeletal system, infantile cerebral palsy, and poliomyelitis who live and study at Kreminna boarding school. They can’t move on their own. Most of the pupils are either orphans or children from poor families. Physical disabilities and sadness do not stop them from attending lessons, and going into swimming, which is their favorite activity. Boarding school is a place where Paralympic sportsmen are breed, so many pupils dream of real competitions and records.
However, the institution is located in an old building, which has a basement and two floors, but no elevator. So, the workers have to carry children in carts up and down the stairs in their hands or on their back.

We want to raise funds to equip boarding school with an elevator, so that children could easily reach educational and rehabilitation classes, get to the pool or outside for a stroll on their own. It costs 190 000 UAH. Bedstock Music Festival will be held within the framework of #GivingTuesday, which is a worldwide charity movement. The studio of "Radio Aristocrats" will host such artists as ТНМК, Yevhen Halych, Postman, Её, INAYA, Tayanna, Bahroma, Panivalkova and others. American photographer Chris Occihone will tell stories of children from boarding school, which he collected during his visit to Kreminna.
