Warm the baby. 2

Currently, it is the middle of summer, and we are already worried about the warmth and comfort of Ukrainian babies this winter. The foundation continues to provide perinatal centers, maternity homes and hospitals where premature babies are discharged with heated mattresses.

Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine continues, which means that the winter will be extremely difficult and harsh. The medical staff is already preparing for difficult conditions for receiving women in labor and leaving children, including in basements, where patients must be during air raids and artillery attacks, as well as possible interruptions in heat supply, which, unfortunately, can also occur due to damage utility networks.

A newborn baby in a hurry needs additional warmth and careful control of body temperature. One of the risks for such children is hypothermia, as they are in a hurry to not be able to maintain body temperature (the brain is not yet able to regulate and maintain body temperature), as well as insufficient amount of subcutaneous fat. Hypothermia in such children can lead to metabolic disorders and contribute to the development of respiratory disorders and inflammation.

MPM-A heated mattresses work from a standard voltage of 220 V, do not require additional re-equipment of other medical equipment. Light and compact, they are easy to carry from compartment to compartment or bomb shelter. We work directly with the Ukrainian manufacturer and thereby support the country's economy in a difficult time for it.

Our foundation initiates the continuation of the project "Warm the baby. 2", within the framework of which we plan to purchase 15 specialized heated mattresses and transfer them to:

• KNP "Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Perinatal Center",

• KNP Sumy Regional Council "Regional Children's Clinical Hospital".

This equipment will help in the care of about 400 babies a year.
