On 13–14 June, Kyiv hosted the summer edition of Star Kurazh — one of the capital’s best-known charity events, which traditionally brings together Ukrainian brands, culture, music, the city’s community and charitable causes.

This time, Kurazh once again welcomed guests to the KIT pavilion at VDNG. Over the course of two days, visitors were able to support Ukrainian brands at the market, visit the celebrity flea market, attend talks, enjoy the music programme, meet up with friends, discover new local projects and get involved in charity work.

Kurazh has long since become more than just a market or a festival. It is a space where people come not only for shopping or experiences, but also for a sense of community. Here, Ukrainian business, the creative industries, charity and caring people come together around important social initiatives.

Visa is a long-standing partner of the event. It is thanks to Visa’s support that this aid project has been made possible. Guests who bought tickets and paid for purchases using Visa cards automatically contributed to the charity: a portion of the proceeds went towards supporting an important social initiative.

This time, the funds raised will go towards helping patients in the surgical ward of the Superhumans Centre.

Superhumans is a place where people who have suffered severe injuries, amputations, trauma and complex operations undergo treatment, prosthetics, rehabilitation and a return to an active life. Behind every story of recovery lies the hard work of doctors, surgeons, nurses, rehabilitation specialists and the entire Centre team.

But high-quality treatment is impossible without items that, at first glance, may seem simple and mundane.

Bandages, syringes, nappies, hydrogel plasters, infusion sets and other consumables are needed in the surgical ward every day. They run out quickly and account for a significant proportion of the Centre’s and patients’ costs, but without them, dressing changes, post-operative care, the administration of medication, maintaining hygiene, monitoring wound healing and safe recovery after surgery would be impossible.

These are precisely the items that are not always visible from the outside, but which ensure the quality of medical care on a daily basis. They are needed following complex procedures, during dressing changes, whilst caring for wounds, in the first few days after surgery, and at every stage of patients’ recovery.

As part of this project, the funds raised will be used to purchase medical supplies for patients in the surgical ward at the Superhumans Centre.

This will help meet the ward’s day-to-day needs, ease the burden on patients and provide the Centre’s team with the necessary materials for high-quality treatment and care.

Thank you to Visa for their support, which has made this project possible.

Thank you to Kurazh for organising an event that has once again brought people together for a good cause. Thank you to the Ukrainian brands, market participants, guests, partners and everyone who was part of this charitable initiative.

Thanks to you, an ordinary purchase, a ticket to an event or a day spent at Kurazh turns into real help for people who are going through the difficult process of treatment, recovery and getting their lives back on track.
