About six insulin injections and ten finger pricks a day are a tough test for twelve-year-old Sviatoslav. He used to use sensors, but they ran out, and measuring his blood sugar and administering insulin is vital. So the boy is forced to prick his fingers again.
Sviatoslav lives in Nikopol. He is kind, cheerful and fair, and has many friends. The boy takes care of stray animals, always feeding and treating them. They have a dog named Kula and a cat named Simba at home.
Nikopol is a frontline city where it is dangerous to walk the streets due to constant rocket fire and drone attacks. At first, Svyatoslav and his mother spent the night in a bomb shelter, but then they stopped because it was very exhausting.
To safely and comfortably monitor his blood sugar levels and avoid serious heart, kidney, and vision problems, Sviatoslav needs Libre 2 sensors. These devices automatically measure blood glucose levels and send the results to a smartphone. One sensor lasts only 14 days and costs 2,270 UAH.
Let's help raise funds to provide the child with sensors for a year!
