Ordinary miracle - hippotherapy

The unique rehabilitation complex starts its work very soon near Kyiv. For the first time, there will be an organization in the world which includes the most progressive methods of rehabilitation practices: from hippotherapy to art-therapy. The center is in the process of seeking the partners. If we can help it, then a number of children could obtain free necessary help in a short period of time. The aim of this project is to find money to buy special lift for disabled children. The lift provides with possibility for children to lift them up from wheel-chair and settled them into saddle neatly and safely.

The Center is built for rehabilitation of children with diagnosis of cerebral palsy, autism, nervous disorders and psychological traumas. Courses include hippotherapy, therapy dog, therapeutic exercise, body-oriented therapy, music therapy, fairy tale therapy. But, the method of treatment of horse riding is one of the most efficient ways to rehabilitation of disabled people. The animal warmth and emotional mood, which sick man feels while communicating with horse, cannot give any trainer.

The process of «treatment» starts from the moment when the patient has already sat on the horse. For the children with cerebral palsy is the most difficult moment of this is a stage – settlement into saddle and backward. That’s why, we are extremely in need of the system of lifting and transporting of the patient from wheel-chair to saddle and backward. Today, instructors raise the patients by their hands but it’s difficult load every day: instructors should put on and take off the horses about 10 children (after official opening the Center this number is raised to 40 children). Besides, these actions are dangerous also for the children themselves. The aim of this project is to buy the system of lifting of patients. The system lifts up and transfers a child from wheel-chair to the horse and backward and using special belts to support the hips and back will help make this process as safe, fast and comfortable.

This project was canceled, the amount collected is 4 435 UAH. The funds were disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UBB) International Charitable Fund and the decisions of the Project Donors.
