Rescue of Polina. 3

Polina is 10 years old. From birth, the child overcomes difficult diagnoses – cerebral palsy and congenital ichthyosis erythroderma. After learning that the girl had such complex diseases, the father left the family when the little girl was only 8 months old. Polina is brought up by her mother. Together they overcome the difficult path to recovery and a full life.

During 10 years of combating the disease a lot have been achieved. The girl learned to crawl, sit, stand with support and, thanks to the latest course of rehabilitation, even move a little on a walker. But so far she cannot walk, stand and take care of herself.

Now Polina is studying in the 3rd grade at home. She loves drawing and crafts, watching interesting videos about the world around her. In December, the girl suffered from COVID-19 disease and her condition deteriorated significantly – increased tone, spasticity, it became difficult to even dress and shoe the child. To further avoid orthopedic complications due to contractures, another rehabilitation with the development of joints and exercise therapy is required.

Polina and her mother live in Lysychansk, Luhansk region, where there are no professional rehabilitation centers. Therefore, the family is forced to seek treatment in other regions of Ukraine, but the cost is unaffordable for a small family. In April, the girl will be treated at the Lviv Rehabilitation Center.
