Kyivstar and dobro.ua donors help Okhmatdyt
As part of the joint initiative of Kyivstar and the charity platform dobro.ua, the necessary medical equipment worth UAH 13.56 million was purchased and donated to the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital.
Thanks to Kyivstar's contribution of UAH 10 million and donations from Ukrainians, which raised another UAH 3.56 million, the hospital has new opportunities to treat children after the damage to the building caused by the missile attack.
‘Okhmatdyt Hospital is a place where children's lives are saved every day. As a socially responsible company, we could not stand aside after the tragedy in July. I am sincerely grateful to all the caring Ukrainians who joined our initiative - together we were able to promptly provide the hospital with critical equipment that gives young patients a chance to recover,’ commented Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov.
Every year, the hospital receives up to 20 thousand children from all over Ukraine, providing treatment for the most complex cases: from severe injuries and cancer to organ transplants. After the devastating attack that destroyed much of its medical equipment, the hospital was left without critical resources to treat children. Thanks to the donated equipment, Okhmatdyt will once again be able to effectively diagnose and treat young patients.
The following medical equipment was purchased and installed for the funds raised:
- Ultrasound scanner for imaging in general and laparoscopic surgery - the device is used for ultrasound diagnostics during highly complex surgical operations;
- Medicenter Intra ENT combine - allows to cover a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and manipulations in the ENT department;
- LIKA-surgeon+ diode dual-wavelength surgical laser for unique operations on arteriovenous malformations in children;
- CRYO-S Painless cryosurgical apparatus for temporary freezing of peripheral nerves during surgery and avoiding pain in the postoperative period.
‘Thanks to the contribution of Kyivstar and hundreds of concerned Ukrainians, we were able to provide Okhmatdyt doctors with everything they need to continue their important work and save children in Ukraine,’ comments Iryna Hutsal, director of the dobro.ua charity platform.
