Those who were born prematurely
Every year in Ukraine about 19,000 premature babies are born, and their weight is sometimes only 500 grams. They are premature babies, and doctors carefully call them "impatient" or "in a hurry." Despite the sweet name, premature birth continues to be one of the leading causes of infant mortality in the world.
November 17 is the International Day of Premature Babies.
The charity platform dobro.ua, the Association of Parents of Premature Babies "Early Birds", Charitable Foundation "Svichado" and the Association of Neonatologists of Ukraine this year are trying to draw attention to the problem of premature birth and urge everyone to thank doctors who always do the almost impossible.
This year's charities thanked the neonatologists and together with the director, cameraman and agency BelkaStrelka Production shot a social video. In the video, they hurry to thank their rescuers for their lives.
Fundraising within the information campaign for the day of premature babies is aimed at purchasing 25 special chairs for "kangaroo" therapy in the intensive care units of maternity hospitals in 4 hospitals. After all, every baby needs not only the professional help of neonatologists, but also mom, dad, warmth, protection, safety, care and love.
