Books for blind children

Our project is relevant! Today - even more than ever. After February 24, 2022, the Lviv center remained the only one in Ukraine that prints and and make audiobooks for blind children. The rest closed down their activities and evacuated abroad.

Demand for Braille books and audio books has increased at least four-fold. We print and sound almost continuously. We send our books not only to blind children in Ukraine, but also abroad, where many Ukrainian special schools for the blind and their parents with blind children were evacuated: Poland (Lyaski, Owinsko, Krakow, etc.), Lithuania, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic , Slovakia, etc. We are constantly looking for ways to deliver the books they ordered to our young and small readers.

Due to the frantic pace of work, they set a record: during the war, about 5,000 books were printed in Braille! This is an absolute record, currently unsurpassed anywhere. For comparison: during the previous 10 years, our Center printed about 11,000 books.

In May and September 2022, we received unexpected and luxurious gifts from American, Polish and Swedish partners - two new braille printers. So the pace of work has increased incredibly: we work almost around the clock, and that's without an increase! But the result is obvious and shocking.

In parallel, we voice the books that we print in Braille. We invite to the studio not only famous artists and actors, but also blind children of various ages. We record incredible audiobooks in roles that impress Europeans with their creativity and engagement blind childrens  in studio work.

Despite all our fanaticism and life activity, we desperately need your support! We work free of charge, and support is necessary for the purchase of consumables: brail paper, covers, paper for printing tactile drawings, etc. Without them, it is impossible to print a book for the blind, and children are always asking for new books.

We beg and appeal: pay attention to this project, which distracts blind children from the real war, from forced separation from their families, and gives them many of the positive emotions they now need from meeting a good, and most importantly, affordable book. ! Each of you is capable of this pious step!
