The project is off to a great start!!

Our project, “Not ‘Just’ Through the Eyes…,” is finally off to a great start. We’ve raised the funds! And for that, we’re immensely grateful to all the benefactors on the dobro.ua platform, the charitable organization “International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange,’” and blogger Anita Solovey!

Our team is now in full swing: we’re preparing programs for two camps—each will have its own, tailored to children of the appropriate age. The first camp will begin this Sunday, July 26, for blind children ages 5 to 9. The two youngest just turned 5 in May, and the two oldest are already in school—both attend inclusive schools. This camp will last 7 days (6 nights) and end on August 1. It will bring together children from the Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions. In total, there will be 8 children and 8 of their mothers or grandmothers, depending on who is traveling with whom.
We’re putting together a packed program. In fact, these past few days we’ve not only been planning each activity but also printing out numerous raised-relief drawings, selecting tactile books (books sewn from fabric—specifically designed for blind children), and planning the cooking activities the children love most. After all, we’ll be preparing the tastiest and most beloved treats for the little ones!

We’ll keep our donors updated on our time at camp, including photos and videos.
We’ll try to gather the kids’ impressions—they won’t be shy about giving their first interviews in their still-young lives.
