Light the fire of victory: Balakliya

Balakliya is a village in the Kharkiv region, Izyum district, which has been occupied since the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. On September 8, the AFU sacked the village, and videos of our guys from Balakleya, where they are hanging Ukrainian flags and how they are greeted by locals with tears of joy in their eyes – went viral all over the net.

But, as is typical of Russia, it left behind only destruction and human deaths.

Balakliya multidisciplinary hospital suffered a lot, the premises were destroyed, during the occupation the Russian military had set up a barracks there, the institution is undergoing major repairs, only the infectious disease department is now open, but gradually the hospital will resume its work. The hospital has also been left without important medical equipment, not only because of the shelling but also because of the looting by the Russian army.

Currently, the facility needs everything from syringes and insulin to vital equipment such as coagulators and breathing machines.

All in all there are about 4 000 people living in Balakleya, now there are fewer, they are people who have not left their homes, because they did not want to, could not, had no place to go, and waited the whole occupation for liberation.

Today we want to help people in de-occupied Kharkiv to return to normal life and provide them with one of their most important needs - access to medicine.

Thanks to Vulkan Casino and the charity event "Light the Fire of Victory" two coagulators, anesthesia and respiratory machine, two ECGs and medicines will be bought for Balakliya hospital. As part of the initiative, the company captures at least 1% of each player's winnings and sends them to charity from its own funds. The collected money is distributed among the charity projects dealing with psychological assistance to the victims of the Russian aggression, prosthetics, reconstruction of buildings and restoration of infrastructure.
