30 – it's a number of surgeries and medical procedures which little Karina had to endure in three years of her life. This number is shocking. We want to say that’s ENOUGH but unfortunately Karina needs one more surgery. The girl needs a shunt system with different parameters. The girl’s mother cannot buy it herself, that’s why she asks for help.

Karina has been at the hospitals since birth. The girl was born prematurely at the 34th week of pregnancy. The child spent 27 days in the intensive care unit. During this period Karina had two brain hemorrhages of the first and the fourth degree and was on a medical ventilator. The treatment didn’t produce proper results and the girl was transported by the ambulance to the Institute of Neurosurgery.

At the Institute the girl was diagnosed with progressive hydrocephalus and multilocular cyst. Karina underwent a lot of surgeries and medical procedures. Every time it seemed that it was the last. But unfortunately it wasn’t... The girl’s attending doctor hopes that this will be the last time and that he will see her only during the follow up visits and not in a hospital bed.
