It is difficult to imagine the work of a modern operating room, in which there is no surgical aspirator. This device not only facilitates the work of doctors – in the case of nursing preterm infants it is indispensable. The success of the treatment and the life of a small patient can depend on the reliability of the medical aspirator, so it is so important that this apparatus is located in each compartment where babies are nursed. Nursing low-weight children are similar to providing the life of an astronaut in a long flight. It is necessary to maintain the temperature and humidity of the environment very precisely.

For this purpose, children's bodies are protected from all sides of the bed with double transparent walls and additional sources of heating are used. The temperature inside the incubator (36°-37°C) is set by the doctor in terms of the individual characteristics of the child and then maintained with very high accuracy – a difference of just one degree is dangerous not only for health, but also for the life of the child. The baby is surrounded by sensors, with which we monitor the most important parameters: palpitation, breathing, arterial pressure, oxygen absorption.

This is done to once again not touch the child, not to bother him. All parameters are displayed on the monitor screen, and the doctor or nurse interferes only when they see that there is a deviation from the norm. Most of the deeply preterm born babies' lungs are small and immature. They have a long period of assisted ventilation. We prefer to use devices that not only do not prevent the child from making his own breathing movements, but also strengthen them if they are very weak.

A separate task is feeding. In the first days of life, a small stomach can assimilate a few milliliters of milk, so the nutrients are injected directly into the blood along the ultrathin tubes. In short, the path of development that the child had to go through in the womb, we help him to implement artificially, simultaneously eliminating the factors that hinder his extrauterine development. If a baby was born at the age of 22 weeks, he needs at least 14-18 weeks of nursing. And if he is sick, the process of treatment can drag on for many months.

Modern suction devices help physicians to control liquid from the nasal passages of the baby and are an indispensable equipment in their work. The goal of this project is to purchase the ATMOS C 161 Aspirator DDS for the Odessa Regional Children's Hospital to save the babies.
