Four months after the birth of Bogdan, they were hospitalized in a serious condition in "Okhmatdet", in the intensive care unit of chronic diseases. Diagnosis of a boy: a kidney disease of the 5th degree, bilateral hydronephrosis, congenital anomaly of the development of the urinary system. Later, the doctors delivered another neurologic diagnosis, which, as it turned out, was withdrawn. Almost four months, Bogdan spent in the hospital.

Instead of crawling on the floor and throwing toys, Bogdan lay in a hospital bed that did not give freedom. Instead of hearing his father's voice, he heard the sounds of the diagnostic apparatus. The kid had to fall asleep not under the lullaby song of his mother, but under anesthesia, which he was injected for another operation. Instead of laughing, seeing the smiling faces bending over him, the little one saw people in white coats that put that one and then another diagnosis.

The child was transferred to renal replacement therapy – peritoneal dialysis (the catheter was placed three times). The belly of the crumb is scarred. Because of incorrect placement of the catheter from the first time, the boy was forced to conduct hemodialysis in parallel, which in this situation is extremely dangerous, since this is a very big load on his small heart and the entire small organism. Doctors discharged Bogdan, without giving any chance of recovery of the kidneys. The only thing they could offer in Ukraine was dialysis 24 hours a day. But the parents did not believe in the doctors' conclusion and did everything to save their child from a constant hospital life. Repeated examinations, expensive food for a sick boy, but needed drugs for maintenance therapy, which was not in Ukraine. Not finding help from doctors, parents turned to volunteers in Ukraine and Switzerland. And help came. The Italian clinic "Bambino Jezu" agreed to help our baby. After 6 weeks spent in the clinic, the child became much better, the boy could return home and live without supporting devices. But the doctors said that the kidneys will not cure it, time is lost and kidney transplants are needed. At the UBB, we collect money for medicines for Bogdan.

A kid who came to this world with the hope of living, rejoicing, loving, now struggling for his life from the last forces. We ask everyone to help the little Bogdan. After all, so much pain, how much this boy has suffered, and which froze in his eyes, perhaps the adult would not have endured either. In the world there was nothing authentic, except for a child's smile. Let's help together to smile at the kid, who with dignity tolerates everything, having a desire to live.
