Without surgery and scars!

There is a truly magical device called bronchofiberscope. This is a kind of probe, a camera and a manipulator. It allows getting into the bronchi of even newborns to make a diagnosis promptly and accurately. Moreover, if there is a need in surgery, it can be done from the inside, with no visible cuts. Such a device is available neither in Zaporozhye nor in the region. And it is not expected to become available any time soon. The goal of the project is to purchase a bronchofiberscope for the Zaporozhye Regional Children’s Clinic.

Currently the Endoscopy Section of the Clinic has a 5-mm-diameter bronchofiberscope. It may be applied in children above 3 years of age. The device we would like to purchase for the Clinic – Olympus BF-XP60 – has an extra slim design that’s only 2.8 mm and a shorter bending radius, which extends its range of application unprecedentedly. Despite its slim design, the device has an instrument channel, allowing to make biopsy, aspiration, sanitation of bronchial apparatus or administration of drug solutions in patients with inflammatory diseases.

Just imagine how great it is to avoid painful surgeries when we are talking about babies. With no such a device available, doctors have to use other, less accurate diagnostic methods. Today patients are diagnosed based on the clinical indications: doctors see if they cough, snore, sniff, etc. Of course, it is not very good for their further treatment as the probability of making an accurate diagnosis is lower.

Let’s help the little ones to avoid the unnecessary scars and the difficult surgeries! With the new bronchofiberscope, there will be almost no need in such surgeries. And the kids will grow healthy and pretty.
