A few years ago, his mother noticed that Sashko had lost a lot of weight, started drinking a lot of water and waking up at night. They went to a doctor, who advised him to take a blood test for glucose levels. The result exceeded the permissible level several times. The boy was hospitalized and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. No one in the family had ever had diabetes before. The diagnosis was shocking for the whole family.
Every time he leaves the house, walks with friends, doing his favorite things worries his parents - will his sugar level drop or rise too much? It is not always possible to have a glucometer with him, especially during study or physical activity.
Now Oleksandr is 15 years old, he is in the 9th grade. Next year he plans to enter a college in a neighboring city. Therefore, for the safety of the boy’s life, sensors for measuring glucose levels are vital. Monitoring sugar levels is a daily responsibility, which is especially difficult when the child is not supervised by his parents.
Mom is asking for help in providing Oleksandr with modern sensors for monitoring blood sugar levels, because this will allow him to feel confident and live a full life.
