As they can not even now, even the most talented doctor can not save a premature baby without special modern equipment, which is why it is so important that it is in our hospitals!".

During the Charity Marathon of Wizz Air Kiyv City Marathon 2017, Olga collects funds for the purchase of an infusion pump in the Intensive Care Unit of the Izmail Perinatal Center. Prematurely born children are a special category: they are very tiny and weak, their body functions are still immature. A child born to a weight of fewer than 1500 grams, faces problems with the respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive and nervous systems. Their life depends on correct and modern nursing. And for this purpose, special equipment has been created that ensures a high-precision dosage of drugs and their uniform intake into the body of the child for a long time. These are infusion pumps or simply infusate.

The pump has the ability to install syringes of any capacity from 10 to 50 ml, of any production, and the pump will smoothly deliver the drugs to the system at a given rate. The injection rate can be set by the doctor in the range of 0.1 to 500 ml / h. The pump monitors the total volume of medications administered, warns about thrombosis of the catheter and prevents it, and also signals the personnel about changing the syringe and preparing a new one. Since this is one of the life support systems, the pump has an autonomous battery for 8-10 hours of operation.

Such equipment is extremely necessary for small patients, nursed in maternity hospitals. Our hospitals, unfortunately, can't boast of the availability of such devices. And our goal is to change this!
