We run for childhood without barriers. The Dzherelo Team

We are a team of Dzherelo Children’s Rehabilitation Centre. Every day we improve the quality of life of children and youth with disabilities, support families and motivate the society to become more open and accessible for people with special needs. Together with other sportsmen and benefactors, we decided to run a distance at Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon on October, 8th to raise funds for conduction of an inclusive holiday at Dzherelo Centre.

We believe that friendship between kids has no barriers. Prejudice and fears are built in the heads of adults, but children are sincere and do not need any masks. We give an opportunity for schoolchildren to spend an unforgettable autumn holiday with children with special needs.

During 3 days, 30 students of 3-5th grade along with 10 children from Dzherelo Rehabilitation Centre (mostly on wheelchairs) will have joyful attractions, sports games, snacks, lunches and movie time. Our first shared vacation will be organized and held by a team of the Centre’s specialists, party entertainers and volunteers. Photos and videos of the games and workshops will be shared in media, joint creative projects will be presented on exhibitions and parents will become more open towards new friends of their daughters and sons. Positive examples of friendship and acceptance will encourage more classes and schools to embrace friends who may look different but appear to be as sincere, real and talented as others.

By giving care to children and youth with disabilities during 24 years, Dzherelo Centre has united hundreds of donors and volunteers around the idea of a value of every person’s life. We plan to start a tradition of the joint holiday not only to make a bright vacation for children, but also to raise a new generation of volunteers and leaders, and what is the most important – to create an open and tolerant society.
