I run to Olena survived! Angela Plishko

Angela Plishko is an amateur athlete in the triathlon, finisher Ironman Barcelona 140.6 2017 and mother of three kids."I have already participated in the UBB fundraising marathon, having successfully raised funds for children with Down syndrome. This fall, I'm running so that my friend's mom can beat cancer. When our children are born, we see a new parent-child relationship and begin to appreciate in a new way the only person to whom we can come up with the request “to take on our hands”. Mother is the only support of my friend Maria. 

Masha raises her son alone and it is thanks to her mother that she can work. In their relationship – love, care, and support. In general, believe me, this is a real team! But it so happened that two years ago the leader in this team changed. Now Maria earns money not only for the maintenance of herself and her son but also for the treatment of her mother. Helen Borisovna was diagnosed with cancer, and a very aggressive cancer – melanoma.

The peculiarity of this disease is that it is insensitive to chemotherapy. While Elena Borisovna was undergoing therapy, everything was fine, the treatment helped. As soon as the medication was over, the abnormal cells began to form foci again. Already several of these foci were surgically removed, but the disease did not recede until the doctors suggested the last generation targeted drugs: Zelboraf and Kotellik. One of them destroys cancer cells, the other teaches the patient's DNA to recognize and neutralize them.

For 3 months, Elena Borisovna has been receiving them and the result is wonderful: the lesions are destroyed one by one. And most importantly – cancer should not return after the end of therapy. But these drugs cost approximately as the wing of a small plane. I plan to collect UAH 14,950 for the purchase of the 1 packaging of one of the drugs – Zelboraf. They need 4 pieces, but even partial help will be of great help to the family.
