Our time together is, thank God, priceless. 37 UAH – that is the exact price of one hour of life for Oksana, the mother of 22-year-old Anna, her best friend, and the most special person in the world to her. Oksana has kidney cancer, stage IV. Most people, when they hear this diagnosis, immediately think, "But it's not possible to live with that!". Nonetheless, it is possible.

Chemotherapy and radiation therapy were ineffective for Oksana, and she basically lives in a state of "incurably ill." But she lives, loves, and rejoices in every hour she spends with her daughter--not thanks to some miracle, but thanks to the effective medication Afinitor, which has made the metastases stop growing and shrink. The mother's and daughter's time together is priceless, and yet it has a price, which is too high for this loving, hardworking family. 37 Hryvnias for an hour of life. The medication has to be taken every day. Every month. Every year. And one has to keep hoping that the medication will keep working.

I am running in this charity marathon to pay for 137 hours of Oksana's life. 137 hours which can be spent on different, interesting, loving things. When you are with someone you love, every hour has its value. And I want more of such hours for these two sunny, loving, and devoted to each other young women. As much more as possible.
