Hospitality and charity have a similar meaning, that is to do good! Holiday Inn Kiev is the international hotel brand of Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is often involved in many charitable initiatives. And this is not the first project in cooperation with Zaporuka Foundation. Our goal is to raise funds to pay the monthly rent of the Center for Children Affected by Cancer Dacha.

Olga Lazoryk is a representative of Holiday Inn Kiev charity activists: “Children affected by cancer are like little defenseless sun rays. If there are no sun rays there will be no light. But we can do so that these rays would never disappear!” Run this marathon with us, support the project donating as much as you can. Funds that we will raise will give home comfort to more families with ill children who stay at the Center Dacha.

Annually the Center provides with a free accommodation more than a hundred families who have children with cancer and come for treatment at the National Institute of Cancer in Kyiv from the other cities of Ukraine. There are no more centers like ours in Ukraine. Six families are constantly living here. And it’s so important that everyone has chance to live here with all members of the family: mother, father, their child and even brothers or sisters. Each family has its own separate room which becomes their temporary home. We have also in our Center special rooms for the relatives of the child who has treatment in the hospital with another family member. So they can cook homemade food and make laundry here. The Center is a place where kids and their family have a rest outside of hospital walls and without hospital procedures… as if it were a real dacha. The parents often say that their children are treated at the hospital and at the Dacha they live as if at home or even more they not just live but revive. To improve their blood tests results after chemotherapy some children just need to come to our Dacha because it is their home and as we all know home walls can treat us.
